In 1611, this lady, the daughter of a Dordrecht based cloth merchant and mayor, married Elias Trip, an Amsterdam based armaments wholesaler. Through this marriage she thus became part of Holland's elite. Rembrandt's portrait of their daughter Maria hangs in the Rijksmuseum in
Amsterdam.
