In 1990, the POI (Product of Imagination) Foundation started a project to redesign an existing chair. Their starting point was a very simple unvarnished chair in maple on four straight legs with a straight back and seat. Gijs Bakker wanted to make it lighter and so bored holes in it. The complete chair has holes in various sizes, located at regular distances from each other. Bakker subsequently designed countless products under his own management such as a candelabra and vase using the same hole principle. The chair is part of the collection of Droog Design.
