Ask anything

  • Ceres asked

Is this peace of art related to our daily lives? If not, what does it mean? Thanks!

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Dear Ceres, The work refers to a shopping arcade that was supposed to be built at the Barbican Center in London. The various constructions contain a noodle bar, a clothing store and a second hand store. The installation was used as the backdrop for various 'lectures' delivered by John Bock himself and some actors. The driver of a motorized vehicle travels the length of The Curve, communicating with those working in the noodle bar and shops. These lectures were also captured on film. I hope this answers your question. Kind regards, Sofie
