More information

This print is based on a design by Rafaël of which the original drawing
no longer exists. The conventional dating of 1515-1520 for this print
has been revised to c.1514 because the figure of Isaac with the angel
inspired Fra Bartolommeo’s painting of Saint Sebastian with an angel.
This work, painted around 1514-1515, is known only from a copy from
1526-1527.
