This print depicts the inventive way people caught waterfowl in
India. Wearing half a pumpkin with two holes to see and breathe
through on their heads, they stand in the water to lure the birds
with food. When a bird, usually a duck, few down, it could be
caught from the water with a swift movement. This is print 20 in the
‘Venationes ferarum, avium, piscium’ series.
