When dealing with sculpture from the middle ages it is often impossible to know who the artist is. The sculpture of Adriaen van Wesel is an exception. This artist is known to have worked in the 15th century and that he was very famous during his life. This last supper is an example of his mastery. Christ and his twelve disciples are seated around a table on which there is a dish containing pieces of bread. The man with the money pouch on his back to the left in the foreground is Judas, who would betray Christ.
