The chance arrangement of the painting materils of the artist Fischer-Lueg has literally been pinned down on his work table, the top of which is then hung on the wall as a threedimensional painting. In this way a chance moment has been elevated to aesthetic reality. Spoerri has also exploited Fischer-Lueg's use of phosphorescent paint, in the dark, when only the remains of paint in the tins are luminescent, the work looks like an abstract Tachist painting, only to return in daylight to the chaotic reality to which the palette owes its existence.
