The artist known simply as Anna often used craft techniques in her work. The tension and emotional disorder of someone (the artist herself?) whose position seems fixed is apparent from the chaotic stitching and the nervous pulling at the table linen on the side where she is supposed to sit. Here 'embroidery' is the medium, not just a technique.
