Ask anything

  • Meghan R Sandberg asked

Hello - wondering if this compass (F6454) would have been used by a master builder? Thank you. Meg

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

    Hello Meghan,
Thank you for your question. These kinds of tools have definitely been used by (master) builders in the 14th century, but we're not exactly sure about this specific one. Since it was an archaeological find, we don't know for certain who it belonged to.
    Kind regards,
    Manus
