Study for the Seated Apostle at the Far Right in the Upper Half (Lunette) of 'The Last Judgement', from the collection of Museo di San Marco, Florence.
This is a study for the whole figure, based on the preceding drapery study
for the lower body. Here the apostle’s pose has been decided, with his head
inclined leftward, the left hand on the knee and the opened right hand
extending forward. The drapery folds under the thigh and knee, the left foot
and the curled fold at bottom right were the only components used in the
fresco.
