Study for a Standing Prophet Holding an Open Book in the Lower Half of 'The Last Judgement', from the collection of Museo di San Marco, Florence.
This study is a variation on the previous one, in which a fold of the cloak
hangs across the forearm instead of from behind the right wrist. In all three
studies for this figure the head is in the same position, leaning forward to
read the book in his hands. The facial features are not worked up. The artist
probably used his life-size mannikin again.
