This sheet shows how the artist made optimal use of the paper. He first made a sketch on the lower half of the paper and then turned the sheet around and made another sketch in the upper half. A composition sketch takes up the whole of the reverse of the sheet. The artist used the lower drawing of Christ and Mary Magdalene for the painting 'Noli me tangere' that is now in the Louvre in Paris.
