From left to right: Purple Swamphen, two Egyptian Geese, Roseate
Spoonbill, females of Wigeon and Smew, males of Goldeneye and
Wigeon, and a Bittern. The artist, a baker by profession and an
amateur artist specializing in birds and insects, signed his drawing
on a piece of wood at bottom right. There is an annotation, ‘From
the cabinet of Mr Bischop’, on the verso.
