More information

In 1898 Denis completed a set of twelve colour lithographs which were published under the title ‘Amour’. The captions to the prints come from ‘Les Amours de Marthe’, the artist’s diary, in which he describes his feelings for Marthe Meurier, whom he had married in 1893.
