The Utrecht judge and art collector Frans Boijmans, the founder of
Museum Boijmans, had a particular fondness for Schouman’s work.
His collection, which he bequeathed to the City of Rotterdam in
1847, included eighteen bird drawings, most of which can be seen
in this exhibition.
