The lowest bird is a Babbler species (of the genus Turdoides). The
uppermost birds, a pair of the same species, cannot at present be
identifed. According to an annotation on the verso, the birds were
drawn after Chinese drawings belonging to Mr Hulle. He is also
mentioned on the drawing of the Crested Argus. This is probably
Martin Hulle (1735-1796) who brought a collection of curiosities
home from China in 1767.
