‘Paysages et intérieurs’ (Landscapes and Interiors) was published shortly after Bonnard’s ‘Quelques aspects de la vie de Paris’. The portfolio of twelve prints was published in an edition of one hundred. Whereas Bonnard focussed on street scenes in his colour lithographs, Vuillard chose to depict mainly interiors. They are intimate scenes, simple and quiet. The compositions are characterised by large blocks of colour and rhythmic patterns.
