Bern 1553,1558 and 1560, Soleure 1556, Basle 1556-1558, Strasburg 1563-1565; the bear derives from the coat of arms of Bern, Switserland; logo of papermakers in the village of Thal, near Bern; Briquet vol. 3, pp. 614-615).
