Birds were highly sought-after: during the annual migration they
were slaughtered in huge numbers for the table. This 16-print series
depicts different ways of catching birds, with a range of nets and
lures, such as birds in cages and owls on stools, and even men
disguised as cows. There is also an illustration of people picnicking
on roast fowl.
