Film and Video project

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen has a multifaceted collection of film and video works. They are regularly shown in exhibitions, but are not accessible when in storage. The museum is currently building a database of this aspect of its collection.

Film and video collection soon available for public

This project is a milestone in the conservation and cataloguing of the film and video collection. The collection includes films from the 1960s to the present day by Bas Jan Ader, Marcel Broodthaers, David Claerbout, Jeroen Eisinga, Bruce Nauman, Richard Serra, Steve McQueen, Melanie Smith and Marijke van Warmerdam. The database currently under construction will make the collection accessible to the public. On the second floor of the Boijmans Van Beuningen Depot there will be two projection rooms where visitors will be able to request screenings of films from the database. There will also be an auditorium with a film programme.
