Closer to Van Eyck project

The aim of this project is to create a database of professional, high-quality detailed photographs of all works by Jan van Eyck and his workshop. Twenty works from eleven renowned European museums have recently been uploaded to the website closertovaneyck.kikirpa.be. The zoom function allows each work to be examined in close detail. The Three Maria's at the Tomb in the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen has been photographed as part of this project. The photographs were taken by the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) in Brussels. The website is the result of the VERONA project (Van Eyck Research in OpeN Access), an initiative of the Centre for the Study of the Flemish Primitives at the KIK-IRPA.
