Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen x Ace & Tate

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and Ace & Tate proudly present a special pair of sunglasses. It’s design is inspired by the iconic mirrored facade of the MVRDV designed Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen. The sunglasses are a limited edition update of the SS23 Anderson model of Ace & Tate.

The Rotterdam based museum and the Amsterdam based brand find each other in a shared love for innovative Dutch Design. The frame is made from recycled acetate and offers a modern and minimalistic design. A special campaign film was made by Rotterdam based creative studio From Form. Video and photography were directed by creative directors Ashley Govers and Jurjen Versteeg. Their work for this campaign was inspired by René Magritte’s painting La réproduction interdite, which is part of the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen opened it’s doors in 2021. It’s the world’s only museum collection building which is permanently open to the public. It houses the 154.000 objects that form the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Over 265.000 ticket buying people found their way to the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen in 2022, making it a succes story. In the depot you’ll find an overview of the museum collection and specially designed presentations. On the southside of Rotterdam, the museum has opened Zuid.Boijmans Van Beuningen. The museum lives!

Dutch design

The modern, minimalist frame has a metallic silver tint and is made from recycled acetate. The mirrored lenses show the spirit of Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen: a place at the intersection of art and architecture.
