Boijmans during Museumnacht 010

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen may not have a physical building for a while, but that doesn't mean you can’t see the collection. While the museum is closed for renovations, highlights from the collection are on view in neighbouring institutions. And Rotterdam’s skyline is reflected in the 1664 mirrored panels that cover the exterior of Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, which is almost complete. During Museum Night you can admire the most beautiful works from Boijmans’ collection and see the city glisten like never before.

Do the Boijmans route

Do you miss your favourite Boijmans artworks? Then take the Boijmans route during Museum Night010. You will find the most beautiful works from the museum’s collection at neighbouring venues. At the Kunsthal Rotterdam, you can see a grand overview of four centuries of paintings and drawing by famous masters such as Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Gogh, Pissarro and Basquiat. Museum Rotterdam reveals the studio secrets of six Rotterdam-born artists, including Kees van Dongen’s depictions of the city’s red-light district, and paintings and masterpieces of silver are on display at the Tax & Customs Museum.

#depotbynight

You cannot yet go inside Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, but we want to introduce you to Rotterdam’s latest architectural icon. The Depot is currently under construction in the Museumpark and is now visible on Rotterdam’s skyline from all directions. During Museum Night, the exterior will be completed when all 1664 mirrored cladding panels are installed. Boijmans invites everyone to see the city sparkle as never before, reflected in its façade. Take a picture of the Depot by Night and share it with the hashtag #depotbynight. Fifty lucky winners will receive two tickets for the Open Depot Days that will take place this autumn.

And we’ve got something else in store for the lucky few. Follow Museumnacht010 on Facebook and Instagram to stay informed.
