  Hi, I was wondering if there is anything known about the exact measurements of the square he taped on the floor (and so if these measurements and the fact it is a square instead of a circle were important aspects of the performance or if it was just about the movement).

  Hello Dieke, Thank you for your question. I have asked our curator of modern and contemporary art and he writes: The exact measurements of the taped square are not known, and if they would have been known those measures wouldn't say anything interesting. Nauman's language is not about transferring ideas or movements into figures, statistics (and vice versa). It doesn't call for an analytic look, rather aims to free the viewer from it. To fully embrace his oeuvre one's should enter into the territory of the sensitive, as opposed to the rational. I hope this is helpful. Kind regards, Els
