This brightly-coloured and unconventional machine was designed as 'something to take with you like your coat, your shoes or your hat'. Sottsass and King designed it as an 'anti-machine machine'. They transformed a heavy, commercial piece of equipment into a stylish accessory you could be seen with. The Valentine is a successful example of a product that can bring about a social transformation; a dream for designers.
