The Danish designer Verner Panton produced brightly coloured Pop-Art style furniture and lighting, which set the trend in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. These lighting elements were developed by the Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen for the Spiegel publishing house in Hamburg. They were intended as wall and ceiling decoration.
