Ask anything

  • Lesley Jacobs Solmonson asked

I would like to obtain the right to use an image in my upcoming book "Liqueur: A Global History". How might I go about that?

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Hi Lesley, In case the artist died less than 70 years ago, the heirs have copyright and it is necessary to obtain permission. In this case the image is in the public domain and you are free to use it for your book. The only thing you need to do is ask a hi res file at: images@boijmans.nl and credit the photographer who made the image in the caption line. My colleague at the image department will give all necessary information. Good luck with your book and kind regards, Els
