At the moment, innovation is no end in itself in the world of design. In this time of 'copy and paste', many young designers are closely examining many design classics and updating them. This also happened with the emblematic polyester fibreglass resin shell chair by Charles and Ray Eames, once a novelty. Bertjan Pot gave it a new, fresh and contemporary look by 'spinning' the chair using carbon thread drenched in synthetic resin. The chair is currently produced by the Moooi design label and is a huge success.
