This tureen, in polychrome Delft earthenware, consists of a rolled up pike in a wicker basket gobbling up a small fish. The edge of the saucer features two pike, biting each other's tail. Fish dishes were served in such tureens. This serving dish was made by Anthony Pennis, who worked in the studio 'De twee scheepjes' [The two ships]. A butter float matching the tureen has also been preserved.
