The very freely painted sketch, with 'All Saints' as its subject, was later developed by Rubens in a drawing. This drawing acted as a model for an engraving made by Theodoor Galle. The drawing and the mirrored print are, on the whole, very similar to the sketch. This similarity allows the figures on the Rubens oil sketch to be identified.
