Ask anything

  • Roger asked

How is this a heater ?

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Hi Roger, François Xavier Lalanne created a cavity in the baboon's belly so that wood can be put in and a fire can be lit. The whole sculpture is made of metal which allows the heat to be spread out. Best, Mara.
