Ask anything

  • Paul Villafranca asked

How many editions of this print were there? I have one and the signature is barely legible.

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Hello Paul, if you click on this link: https://www.boijmans.nl/en/collection/in-depth/goya-s-disasters-of-war, you can get much more information about Goya's 'Los Desastres'. Here it states that the Royal Academy of San Fernando in Madrid printed 500 sets of Goya's 'Los Desastres', so there must be about 500 copies of 'Ya no hay tiempo'. It is unfortunate that yours is barely legible. As you can also read on the site the quality of the prints vary because of the many times the copper plates were used. Best, Sarie.
