Thank you for your question. The plate is a colored lithography. The technique for this specific medium involves a drawing with greasy chalk or ink on a flat surface. After 24 hours, the drawing is removed, yet the grease has been absorbed by the plate. The plate will be wettened, after which the greasy parts of the plate stay dry because of the repellent quality of grease. The artists can then apply the colors and print the drawing on a sheet of paper.
